
Joseph Oyebog

Jospeh Oyebog was born and raised in Cameroon, Africa. He attended government schools in his primary and early years of secondary school. He graduated high school from Sacred Heart College. He then attended St Joseph's Junior College Sasse, before coming to the USA and attending Columbus College in Georgia where he majored in Physical Education, Parks and Recreation Management/Sports Science.As a player, Joseph played for the Cameroon National Junior Team, Boys 14's, 16's and 18's. He was a member of the Top Guns at NBTA in 1994. Joseph played Davis Cup, representing Cameroon from 1990-1997, and was the Cameroon National Champion in 1997 and 2005, with an ATP World Doubles ranking in 1996-97.
As a coach, Joseph holds to the philosophy that it is his job to "bring the best out of any player, irrespective of their level of play or ability".
In 1995/1996, Joseph was a sparring partner to Serena and Venus Williams and worked with Head Coach Rick Macci and Richard Williams. He was the Head Coach at Farifield Warde High School in 2005/2006, and a practice coach at Fordham University from 2009-11. He attended the ITF seminars in Johanesburg in 2000.
With all of his credentials, Joseph, being an extremely humble man, is most proud of his biggest accomplishment, that of founding OTA, the OYEBOG TENNIS ACADEMY in 1999. Though originally from Cameroon, Joseph is a U.S. citizen today after being approved by the U.S. Immigration Department under a very rare visa for "aliens with an extraordinary ability". He has created the OTA Dream Team 1, which has 5 National Championships with the help of Nathalie Sienkob and Victor Sanakas Papi.
He has also unveiled a 5 star tennis complex he will be building in Douala, Cameroon.
